The first 5-star hotel in the Ericeira area (tourist village deeply linked to the practice of surfing) isn't a beach or surf hotel. Instead, since 2022, it's been offering a secluded and immersive experience in a rural setting. This “destination hotel” offers a luxury experience under the motto “slow is the new flow”.
Designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape through its colors and the low volume of the construction, the hotel consists of 4 units, offering a total of 37 rooms (2 suites), a spa, a swimming pool and an organic garden. It is located in Santo Isidoro, in a valley overlooking São Lourenço beach, in Mafra, Portugal.
The owners' concern for sustainability in this project extends from the environmental to the social aspect. The architecture prioritized the use of organic materials, and the decoration bears the mark of local artisans. In addition to the organic garden, local producers "feed" the cuisine of both restaurants with fresh, organic produce: Emme, with more sophisticated Atlantic flavors, and Emme on Fire, an outdoor dining space.
Immerso's gastronomic offer is overseen by Alexandre Silva, a consulting chef responsible for the creation of the menu and the management of events such as "Alexandre Silva convida" and "Emme on fire." He has been joined by resident chef Maurício Pinto since 2024.
FN hotelaria was the company responsible for supplying and installing the equipment for the kitchen areas (preparation, cooking and pantry), including the outdoor kitchen, as well as for cold storage areas, storage room, staff refectory, laundry and bars (indoor bar areas and the pool bar).
