There could be no better way to celebrate Vila Baleira Group’s 25th anniversary: with the opening of a premium-segment hotel that places the island of Porto Santo on the map for luxury and wellness tourism, free from the constraints of seasonality.
Legacy Ithos Boutique Hotel offers just 28 rooms and suites and was designed to provide an intimate, personalized, and exclusive experience. Its architecture prioritizes comfort and draws inspiration from the island's natural surroundings.
The focus on health and longevity is reflected in Ora, the hotel spa where natural elements from Porto Santo are incorporated into the various treatments offered. The opening of the Ora Thalasso Spa Clinic is also scheduled for 2027.
The concept developed for Legacy Ithos focuses on excellence, the establishment of a close relationship with the client, and a deep connection to local authenticity.
Regarding gastronomy, consulting chef Diogo Rocha and executive chef Manuel Santos lead Origo34. The restaurant prioritizes local and seasonal ingredients, whether from the land or the sea. The venue was inaugurated on August 29.
Part of Vila Baleira Hotels & Resorts, which owns five other hotel properties on Porto Santo and Madeira, Legacy Ithos positions itself as a wellness retreat. It joined the renowned The Leading Hotels of the World network in January 2026.
FN hotelaria, through its HVAC unit, had the opportunity to collaborate on the development of this hotel. Under a subcontract with its client A. Pimenta Construções (the project's general contractor), FN hotelaria supplied and installed the HVAC systems for the à la carte restaurant and refurbished the HVAC and domestic hot water (DHW) systems in the resort's thalassotherapy area. FN hotelaria was also responsible for implementing the ventilation system for the restaurant and the beach facility.
