After Quinta da Casa Branca and Quinta Jardins do Lago in Funchal, Leacock, a Madeiran hotel group, has expanded its activity to the portuguese mainland with the opening of Praia do Canal Nature Resort.
After some delays in the project caused by the contingencies of the pandemic and a period of soft opening, this 5-star resort definitely opened its doors to the public a few months ago.
Located in Aljezur, it has 56 rooms, 2 restaurants, 2 bars and a spa. The commitment to the region is revealed in the concern for local nature, in the gastronomic offer based on a local and seasonal basis and in the minimalist decoration that reinforces the hotel’s authentic and discreet character, in which elements produced in Portugal prevail.
In the kitchen, led by chef Marcelo Santos, the flavors are mostly from the Algarve and Alentejo. There is a cooking block produced in Italy by Baron and in the pizzeria area a Josper charcoal grill and a Valoriani wood oven, supplied and installed by FN hotelaria, just like the remaining equipment in the preparation, production, pastry and pantry areas, cold rooms and storage areas, bars, staff refectory and laundry.
We are doubly proud of this project!
