A new restaurant occupies the top of The Views Baía hotel

New brand. New services. New restaurant.

Four Views Baía hotel, currently The Views Baía, underwent some refurbishment works that took place between 2021 and 2022. But it was already at the beginning of 2023 that the doors of the space that the group considers to be its “gastronomic fort” were opened: the Desarma restaurant.

With the clear objective of updating the offer and continuing to meet the expectations of an increasingly demanding traveller, the intervention in this four-star hotel focused on the facade, reception, swimming pools, spa, bar and restaurant areas and rooms. The number of accommodation units suffered a slight decrease, but the quality of the offer was reinforced. The hotel now has a gym on the 3rd floor and a panoramic elevator.

The decoration was in charge of the designer Nini Andrade Silva, who brought to The Views Baía many elements that praise Madeira island, such as the giant banana leaves and the kitchen door, which is a replica of a door at Mercado dos Lavradores, in Funchal.

On the rooftop of the hotel now stands Desarma, a fine dining restaurant, with the signature of chef Octávio Freitas. It promises a surprising gastronomic offer, which is defined as follows: “A simple cuisine where, without embellishments, the flavors disarm those who taste them. An army of sensations: bitter, sweet, acid, salty, hot, cold, surprising and explosive. An attack of traditional products mixed in a modern kitchen of proven quality, which will leave anyone surrendered.”

The kitchen designed by FN hotelaria, with an open concept, features an extraordinary cooking block made in Italy by our partner Marrone. Around it are distributed the 40 seats at the counter that complete the Chef's Table.

One of the main objectives of the kitchen team is making the most of regional and national products, recovering and updating traditional techniques (for example thanks to smoked products and charcoal cooking in the Josper oven), focusing on simplicity and avoiding excessive processing of food.

FN hotelaria was the company responsible for the project, supply and installation of hotel equipment for the kitchen, show cooking and bar areas.

The execution of the HVAC mechanical installations in the restaurant, banquet area and Kids Club were also under our responsibility.

The Views is the new brand of the Madeiran hotel group that has 3 hotel units: in addition to The Views Baía and The Views Monumental, in Funchal, it has a unit located in Caniço, The Views Oásis.
