Over the past few years, FN hotelaria has collaborated in the evolution of the Royal Óbidos Resort project. First, with the supply and installation of equipment for kitchen, bars and laundry regarding the opening of Evolutee Hotel in 2014; subsequently, with the supply and installation of equipment for kitchen, pantry, bar and cold storage facilities for the expansion of this hotel unit in 2024.
This resort, which started as a golf course, quickly expanded to offer 5-star hotel accommodations, a spa, restaurants, bars, a conference center, sports fields, as well as villas and apartments.
With the growth of the complex in terms of accommodation units, Royal Óbidos felt the need to expand its gastronomic offer, focusing on guests but also on visitors to the region.
Moreover, the resort management was concerned with serving meals throughout the day without interruption, guaranteeing affordable prices, and offering a takeaway service, in order to meet the expectations of local residents and customers of nearby establishments.
Thus, in addition to the golf clubhouse restaurant and the existing fine dining area in the hotel, a building was constructed from scratch near the tennis, padel, and mini-golf courts to house Osteria Verdi – Cucina Italiana.
Operating since May 7, 2026, this new restaurant "pays homage to the region, the surrounding environment and its location [...]: a spacious area, situated in the middle of nature, surrounded by peace and tranquility, which contrasts with the positive and warm energy of Italian cuisine”, reads the hotel's website.
Leading the restaurant are executive chef Frédéric Breitenbucher and resident chef João Nuno Silva.
The authenticity of Mediterranean flavors, the "soul that can be felt in every dish," the simplicity and comfort of sharing make dishes shine, prepared with ingredients imported directly from Italy and collected from the restaurant's organic garden. The goal is to offer the true essence of the much-loved Italian cuisine.
In the space overlooking the golf course and the Óbidos lagoon, shades of green are reflected inside. There are 50 seats and another 60 on the terrace. 10 customers can sit at the counter of the open kitchen and watch the pizzas coming out of the Valoriani Italian wood-fired oven, as well as the preparation of other dishes.
In addition to the kitchen (preparation, cooking, pantry and pastry areas), the bar and cafeteria areas, cold storage facilities and storage area were also equipped by FN hotelaria.
